GAMMA's new corporate structure

16.2.2018 Press Releases

GAMMA has updated its corporate structure to reflect the company's rapid growth and increased activity from new revenue sources.

GAMMA Capital Management (GAMMA) has updated its corporate structure to reflect the company's rapid growth and increased activity from new revenue sources. Now, each business line will be in a better position to collaborate on important projects and initiatives. This new structure will ensure that GAMMA can achieve stronger performance and offer a wider variety of solutions to meet the needs of clients.

Valdimar Armann will remain as GAMMA's CEO and the managing directors for funds, alternative investments, operations and risk management, as well as sales and business development will continue in their roles.

Key changes include GAMMA Advisory Service and foreign operations becoming an official subsidiary of the firm, led by Thordur Agust Hlynsson as managing director. Gisli Hauksson, co-founder of GAMMA, will be responsible for foreign operations in London and New York.

GAMMA has grown quickly since the company was established ten years ago, and at the end of 2017 had approximately 137 billion Icelandic Krona under management (USD 1,4 Billion / EUR 1,1 Billion). Operating profit for 2017 was the second best in the company's history. Over the course of 2018, GAMMA aims to expand its fund and product offerings, as well as increase opportunities for investment abroad.

A new board has also been elected with Hlif Sturludottir as chairman, along with Sveinn Biering and Gunnar Sturluson as new members.

Hauksson, the departing chairman, will resign from the board per Icelandic laws prohibiting employees of domestic financial companies from serving on their own boards. Hauksson will instead focus on expanding foreign projects and operations out of London and New York. GAMMA's real estate projects, infrastructure investments and loan funds will remain significant areas of overseas growth.
